War (World War II).
Description
An American propaganda flyer dropped on the Burmese during World War II. It is written in Burmese. At the top of the flyer is a picture of the United States flag.
Under the writing, there are three small drawings. The first depicts a line of ships sinking underwater.
The second drawing depicts a line of ships sinking underwater, and drawings intended to depict the Japanese flag are attached to each ship.
The third drawing shows a line of stick figures appearing to drown in the water.
This flyer comes from the personal collection of Howard Norman. Howard Norman (1922-1943), from Norman's Crossing in Williamson County, was an aerial gunner who joined the United States Army Air Corps before the United States entered World War II. He was stationed in Pearl Harbor prior to the Japanese attack on December 7, 1941, but he shipped out before the attack began. His family, however, did not know he had left and believed him to be in Pearl Harbor on the day of the attack. They received a letter on December 22, 1941, that he was well and had not been in Pearl Harbor.
Norman served in New Zealand, Australia, and India during the war. He went missing in action in 1943 while on a bombing raid over Rangoon, Burma. He received a Distinguished Flying Cross, an Air Medal, and a Purple Heart for his service and sacrifice during the war.

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:
You! Comrades! It is the flag of the United States of America
Destroying the Japanese by the America in the Solemon Battle field on 6/7/8 of Thansangmo month (Burmese month).
The Japanese dare not inform you this true news.
Another twelve Japanese ships have been sunk.
And another eleven Japanese ships have again been sunk.
Again Japanese soldiers 30000 have been sunk dead!
The vicissitude of the Japanese is going down!
