A black and white photograph of three men posing in front of a very large rock and standing in water. All men are wearing swim trunks with no shirts.

The writing that accompanies this photo explains that this is a picture of Edward Vorous, Seymour Swartz, and Ben Hartman, along with a description of how when they lived in a tent together, Ben made many of their appliances - with great skill. He also wishes Ben and Myrtle good health and long happy life. Letter is from Ed Vorous.

Ben Gilbert Hartman (1916-1996) was born in Thrall, Texas. He entered the Army Air Corps in 1943 and trained in California, Texas, and Nebraska. He served in the Marianas, and was awarded the American Theater of Operations (ATO) service medal, APO ribbon, 3 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct medal, and Victory Ribbons. He married Myrtle Horbratsch in 1946.
