Ethel Sauls of Round Rock, Texas, poses with a young African-American boy in a military uniform. Ethel is wearing a World War II nurse's uniform.

Ethel Hurd Sauls (1911-2001) from Round Rock, Texas, volunteered with the USO after her husband Otto Sauls joined the United States Army as a carpenter. Sauls served as a nurse in the Round Rock, Texas area. She also earned commendations as an Agricultural Victory Leader.
